Colin Whitbread was born in Oceanside California in 1979, he works predominately as a painter and sushi chef but has a passion for scale miniature work, military history, and improv acting. He studied Fine Arts with an emphasis on drawing and painting at Long Beach State University. Whitbread also works at a nonprofit for elementary school students as a lead character in the living history programs at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point California. He is an internationally published model and has completed campaigns for Harley Davidson, Marlboro, Jose Cuervo, Carrera glasses, Mr. Porter, Brixton, Winston, Reef, and Birdwell. As an artist, Colin has exhibited in group shows in Berlin, Paris, Bordeaux, Biarritz, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Salinas Spain. In 2013 Colin Whitbread rode the tidal bore of the Petitcodiac in New Brunswick Canada for 20 miles with surfer J.J. Wessels breaking the northern hemisphere record for longest distance ridden. Represented as the main character Kilroy in the movie Forbidden Trim, he also assisted in the writing and producing of the story as well as the lead miniature and terrain artist in the film. He lives, works, and surfs in Oceanside California and currently rides for CJ Nelson Designs, Raen Optics, and Breaker Out Wetsuits.
